PRESS RELEASE: EV Mississippi Partners with PetSmart and Hub City Humane Society for Drive Electric Earth Day and Pet Adoption Event

EV Mississippi, a non-profit organization advocating for the support of hybrid and electric vehicles, has partnered with PetSmart and the Hub City Humane Society for a Drive Electric Earth Day (DEED) and National Adopt-A-Pet Event. The event will take place on Saturday, April 3 from 11am until 3pm at the Hattiesburg PetSmart location on Highway 98.

Representatives from Mississippi Power and Entergy will be present to discuss initiatives to promote electric vehicle growth and infrastructure. Owners and enthusiasts will also be on-hand to answer questions about owning and driving hybrid and electric vehicles. There will be demonstrations on charging Tesla-specific vehicles utilizing the Tesla SuperChargers located adjacent to the event.

From the DEED web site: Drive Electric Earth Day is a national campaign to share information about electric vehicles throughout the month of April. In addition to being better for the environment, electric vehicles are more fun to drive, more convenient to fuel and less expensive to operate than gasoline vehicles.

Hub City Humane Society is an open admission animal shelter servicing Lamar County and the City of Petal dedicated to providing compassionate care of homeless, neglected and abused animals. Pets will be available for adoption on-site at the event.

Raffle tickets will be available for a variety of giveaways and all donations/proceeds will benefit Hub City Humane Society. EV Mississippi invites the public to come out and enjoy food and activities while exploring a variety of electric vehicles and pets available for adoption.
